I grew up with many fine memories from my childhood and one of them is about an ice cream eaten with knife and fork. At the time, the happiest day of each month was the day daddy received his pay. He would take me to the best French dessert house in town to have that ice cream. Each time, dad just sat on the side looking at me as I was enjoying the dessert. His face shined with happiness and satisfaction. Unfortunately, I have never seen this type of ice cream again after I had grown up. However, the taste of it and the memory were deeply engraved into my heart.

Because of my job nature, I had the opportunity to travel around the world and visit different cities. Coffee shops were places I often spent time with clients and friends. Each shop had its own style and characteristics, and the owners often enlighten their coffee and desserts by adding creative ideas into the creation process. That gave me a lot of inspiration.

The most valuable experience that I gained from setting up this business is the discovery of the huge fall between the ideal and the reality, and the learning of how to find the way out in a predicament.

We discovered that we were on a dead end road not long after opening. My heart sank to the bottom of the ocean like a sunken ship. At the time, what gave me the courage to start over again was the support of my family and the encouragement from my friends. There was a TV series called “Rainbow After The Dark” on every Sunday midnight. It delivered a very touching message to me– “It is inevitable that we will encounter problems and difficulties that are not in our expectation. However, we shall keep our faith and confidence that we can still see the rainbow in the dark. The difficult time will pass and miracles will happen.”
